Posen Robbins School District’s Language Instruction Educational Program (LIEP) aims to provide exemplary education to all Emergent Bilinguals (EBs). It will ensure that each student develops cognitive academic language proficiency skills in English or in English/Spanish necessary to reach the highest level of academic achievement and obtain long-term success.
There are very specific guidelines with regards to the identification, screening, and placement of Emergent Bilinguals (EBs) into our LIEP. Student eligibility for the program is determined through the administration of an English language proficiency test, and parent permission is required for entrance into the program. Our LIEP is an effective vehicle for providing Emergent Bilinguals (EBs) with a full measure of access to an equitable educational opportunity as required by federal and state law.
