There are multiple ways to create digital whiteboards. Google Jamboard is a tool that you can find as an app for the iPad and in your Google Suite on your laptop. You can also use the Notes app on your iPad. Notability could work in some situations - leave blank pages in your document to create a whiteboard space. Other great apps are Educreations Whiteboard, Explain Everything, and ShowMe. Finally, there are a number of art tools that could work well on your iPad. Sketchbook is a powerful art app for iPad that you can find in the app store. Play with the Zoom In and Zoom Out features.
Video shows how to use Jamboard. It refers to Chromebooks, but you can use this on an iPad (download the app) or a laptop (in your Google Suite). You can share a Jamboard with other students or with teacher like you would a google doc.
