While you explore the Medical Detectives unit, it’s important for you to show sensitivity to your peers’ personal experiences with various medical conditions and to understand the importance of a safe and confidential learning environment.

In this unit, you will investigate vital signs. It’s important to consider that most people want their health information to be kept confidential. The measurements you take are not meant to be used for diagnostic purposes and should not be shared with others. The federal government has laws in place to help patients keep their health information private and protected (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)).
