East Edge Sisters WI was formed in May 2016 on the East Edge of the borough of Newham in East London.
We are a friendly community group aimed at bringing women together to enjoy social and informative evenings once a month. Think the WI is all about jam and Jerusalem? Think again – there's a lot more to us than you might expect! Why not come along and see what our recently formed, urban WI is all about?
We have members from across all ages and across the community. We like to have fun, try things out, meet new people, make new friends – and yes of course, we eat cake! We run a number of evenings including our regular monthly meetings, a monthly Craft Club which is open to all adult members of the community, a periodic Supper Club trying out places to eat near and not too far away, and we have have outings too. Why not come along and give us a try? Your first visit is free.

We meet on the 2nd Tuesday of every Month, excluding August, from 1915 - 2115 in the church hall at:

Anything else I need to know?
The first part of our meetings is 'official business' where we share messages and updates to keep you informed about what we have been doing and what we have planned. The remainder of our meeting is given over to our theme for the month - look at our 'Dates for your Diary' tab to see more about our programme. In the past we have hosted foraging, beekeeping, olive oil and local author talks, activity evenings which have included our craft carousel, a surrealist art evening, a makeover evening, and a clothes swap, as well as festive social evenings for our birthday and in December. We have an annual quiz night, and are always open to suggestions from our members of what they would like.
We have a raffle each evening to raise funds, either for our general funding or to support our chosen charity. We have refreshments of tea, coffee and of course cake for which we ask a small voluntary contribution to cover the costs.
