MOST OUTSTANDING UNIT IN THE NATION
2019 & 2023
On November 18, the unit held its annual Area Managers Inspection (AMI). During AMI, cadets are inspected by active-duty military personnel and the Area Manager, Commander Eric Humphreys (USN, Ret.). Once the inspection was completed, the cadets performed exhibition and regulation platoon drill. Cadets then marched in pass-in-review and recognized the Class of 2026. Congratulations on a job well done—bravo zulu, cadets!
On November 15, the units Athletic, Academic, and Drill Team (AAD) had the opportunity to compete at their first drill meet of the year. This drill meet was held at Owen J. Roberts High School in Pottstown, PA, where cadets competed in armed and unarmed exhibition, armed and unarmed regulation, color guard, and athletics. This was also an opportunity for the freshman drill team (Class of 2029) to compete for the first time in their high school careers. The teams took 1st place in Academics and Athletics, as well as 2nd place in Armed Exhibition. The team placed 2nd overall. Bravo Zulu, Cadets!
On October 25, our orienteering team traveled to Pottstown, Pennsylvania, to compete in the annual Area 2 Championship. We took first place overall as a unit, with several individual achievements as well. Cadet Paige Suhocki won first place in the girls’ varsity category, and Matthew Monchinski took first place in the boys’ varsity category. Bravo Zulu, cadets!
On October 15th, our unit had the opportunity to visit the USS New Jersey (BB-62) and the USS Billings (LCS-15). Eighty-five cadets had the chance to go aboard both ships to learn about their history and construction. This visit was held in honor of the U.S. Navy’s 250th birthday.
