Date: 10.21.22
It is pretty sunny today, with good weather, not many clouds, and it's a little bit chilly but not that bad—lots of bushes around our site to provide some shelter for different animals.
This is the data for day one for the whole class, October 21st, 2022. We are site three. We are the group in the middle of the table. As we can see from the data, The temperature was around 55.6 that day, a little bit cold but not too bad. The data is being taken in the afternoon. Our class has different Beaufort scales for each site, perhaps because the building blocks some places, so the wind cannot blow through it. Our site had a three mph, light breeze. The average water temp is around 54.21F. Our site is around the same number as 54.86. Groups 4 and 5 still need to change their data to F.
PH scale is close to neutral. Neutral is 7, and our site got 6.5, and we have an average of 6.5 too. Indicate that the pond is healthy for PH scale-wise. The phosphate number average is 1.75 for the class, and we got 1.5 as our data. The lower the number is for Phosphate, the better. So our Phosphate count is not too bad because it's at 1.75. We have an error on the data for group 5, which means that some mistake happened, and we are not counting their data. The turbidity average is 13.3. Group 2 got a higher number for the test, but we got 5. Again, the lower the number, the better we can see through it. The better the light can come in, the better plants can do photosynthesis, creating energy for themself and oxygen for living creatures. We also got some errors in the data, so we will not count them.
Dissolved Oxygen is linked to Turbidity and the number of sunlights we can get. The higher the count is, the better. This means that there will be plenty of oxygen for the animal. Anything above a six or a seven is considered excellent. Our average for the class is 9.2, and our site got 9.3. Pretty high counts mean plenty of oxygen for animals to use. The data for Nitrates is a little odd, we have three errors, but our group and group 1 got 0, so that is good. The lower the number is, the better.
