Curriculum Leader forÂ
Personal, Social, Citizenship and Religious Education (PSCRE)
PSCRE is a compulsory course which all students will be expected to do. It is one lesson per week and is not examined. We are committed to providing students and students with high quality learning experiences that not only contribute to their academic success but also to their lives outside of school as responsible citizens. Subjects include Religious Education, PSCRE (Personal, Social and Citizenship Education), Citizenship, Sociology and Philosophy. Our modules equip all learners with critical thinking skills which enable them to engage and empathise with topical and controversial issues faced in the 21st Century society.
The topics we are covering are:
Amnesty International
Religion and Drugs
Advocacy
Crime and Punishment
Religion and Family
Human Rights
Government and Politics
Sociology
There will be no formal examination at the end of Year 11. There will be assessments throughout the year to check learning and progress of students.
