Year 2 DT: Making Sushi
To bring our Geography unit of Leeds and Tokyo to life, our year 2 children recently made their own sushi! This wasn't just about exploring Japanese cuisine; it was also a practical lesson on nutritional balance. We focused on understanding the components of a well-balanced snack, ensuring our sushi was both delicious and healthy.
Year 2 Geography trip: Leeds City Centre
Last week we embarked on an exciting geographical adventure through Leeds City Centre!
The preparation for the trip began in the classroom, where we designed a walking route together on our map.
We put our skills in to pracice in the city centre to see Leeds Town Hall, Leeds Kirkgate Market, Trinity Leeds, The Corn Exhange and First Direct Arena. We pointed out which buildings we thought were old or new, as well as how they may have changed over time. On our journey, we used our Geographical learning to discuss why people may be visiting Leeds.
This trip was a wonderful way to connect our classroom learning to the real world and use our map skills.
