Children celebrated World Book Day be dressing up as a character from a story. We spent time during the day listening to some of our favourite stories and we were all involved in a 'book swap'. Year 3 children visited us in class, to read their favourite stories to us. A great day was had by all.
Our class reader this week is 'Zog and the Flying Doctors'. We spent the morning retelling part of the story in small groups. Children took on the role of Zog, Gadabout the Great, Princess Pearl and the mermaid.
We are celebrating British Science week in school this week. On Monday we joined in with an online live lesson where floating and sinking was introduced. We came to the conclusion that carrots sink and oranges and lemons float. We were set a challenge to find a way to make a carrot float. We tested out various materials (cling film, tin foil, tissue paper, lollypop sticks, paper towel and a bin lower). Our results found that any material that wasn't made of paper made a good floating device!
