In English we are exploring books by author Claire Freedman (the author of Aliens Love Underpants). We will be focusing on writing labels, captions, lists and simple sentences.
In Maths we will be focusing on place value (within 20), Addition and Subtraction (within 10) and geometry (shape).
In Phonics we be revisiting levels 1-3 and level 4.
In Geography we will be learning about our local area 'Pudsey' and we will spend time looking at and drawing simple maps.
In Science we will be learning about seasonal changes.
In DT we will be making our own hand puppets.
In PSHE we are exploring the topic 'Well-Being'.
In PE we will be learning about fundamental skills.
In Music we are practicing Rhythm and Pulse.
In French we will learn how to say the names of the four seasons and give a brief description about them.
In Geography this half term our topic is 'Near, Far, Wherever you are'. In our lesson today we spent time learning about our local area 'Pudsey'. We learnt that Pudsey is in the city of Leeds and that Leeds is in England. We then spent time looking at an atlas and found a map of the United Kingdom. We located Leeds and we enjoyed exploring Google maps and Google earth.
In Maths today we have revisted learning from Reception - sorting objects! We enjoyed sorting different groups of objects by their shape, size and colour.
After hearing all about our exciting writing project 'Organising the Community Apple Harvest' we visited the school orchard and picked our own apples. We used the apples back in the classroom to investigate our senses - touch, taste, smell and sight.
