After a long wait since April 2019, Pride returned to the Winter Guard International (WGI) competitive stage at the WGI Indianapolis Regional on 2/12-13! They performed 'Adiós' twice over the weekend with prelims and finals performances premiering the full production of flags, costumes, floor and props of the 2022 show!
It was great to be back in the hallways and arena with a full crowd of winter guard fans! And based on the response the performances received, it seems that winter guard fans were glad to welcome Pride back! The sounds of applause given to Pride and all the groups performing over the weekend was great to hear following their absence during these Co-Vid interrupted seasons. Thanks to all who attended and supported the winter guard activity in Indy!
Pride's finals performance scored a 85.2 and placed 1st in the Independent World Class.
Check out the 2022 calendar that includes links to where you can catch a LIVE Pride performance this season!

Pride of Cincinnati is pleased to announce the addition of Markell Allen and Sam Watson to the 2021-22 winter guard staff! Both are Pride of Cincinnati alumni and we're excited to have them joining the Pride instructional team!
In addition to Pride of Cincinnati, Markell's performance experience includes the Carolina Crown Drum & Bugle Corps, the Boston Crusaders Drum & Bugle Corps and Etude Winter Guard. As an educator, he has had the opportunity of teaching a multitude of groups, including many South Carolina Independent and high school guards, Indianapolis high school groups, and Legends Drum & Bugle Corps.
Sam was a cast member of Pride from 2008-2013, and an inaugural member of the Pride of Cincinnati Dance Ensemble in 2014. Sam resides in Carmel, Indiana, where he has been a full-time instructor for Carmel High School's color guard program since 2013. Sam was also a member of The Cadets Drum & Bugle Corps color guard staff from 2011-2019.
We are thrilled to have the skills and talents of Markell & Sam back with Pride!
The Pride of Cincinnati is excited to announce that we have been awarded a grant from the Ohio Arts Council for the 2021-2022 season! This is an amazing opportunity for the Pride organization but we need the help from our fans, supporters and alumni to make it count!
As a requirement of the grant, Pride must match the grant to receive the full funding of $7,000! You can ensure that happens by donating to the Pride Match Challenge. During Sept 13 - Oct 4, we are trying to raise the $7,000 being awarded by the Ohio Arts Council. This is your chance to double your impact to Pride by knowing the money will be matched by this grant!
With your help, we know we can make this happen! Please donate today!
It seems the world is looking towards the future searching for some “good news” stories, something to look forward to, and signs of hope. The Pride of Cincinnati is also looking towards the future.
It is with great pleasure and excitement that the Board of Directors of the Pride Youth Development Foundation (PYDF) announce the return of the Pride of Cincinnati Winter Guard for the 2022 competition season!
PYDF is committed to creating a safe haven where youth can collaborate, create and develop life long skills through participation in the performing arts. We hope this announcement provides a ray of hope for many hopeful performers and supporters of the Pride of Cincinnati, especially in light of recent events.
“The health and safety of all involved is, and always has been, the top priority of our organization. We will have our eye on every situation and procedure the cast, staff, and administration will encounter to ensure a safe and healthy experience. 2022 is going to be a very special year for our activity and we’re excited to be a part of it!” said PYDF board chairman Ryan Alm.
The seven-time world champions plan to hold auditions in September, assuming that will be a safe time for all participants. Watch for more information in the months to come. We look forward to being together with everyone again!
