Ryan has spent most of his life involved in the marching arts and is a strong supporter for the value that team performance experiences can offer our youth. As a performer, Ryan marched six years with the Glassmen Drum & Bugle Corps where he met many Pride of Cincinnati people that are friends to this day.
While obtaining his BA in Economics from the University of Cincinnati, Ryan began teaching visual performance and movement technique for high school marching bands and winter guards throughout the Midwest. For more than 23 years, Ryan has judged visual and design captions at marching band and winter guard events across the country. Most recently, Ryan was a member of the 2021 visual staff of the Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps and the 2019 visual staff of the Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps.
