Andrea “Annie” or “Midge” Hrycyshyn has been in the colorguard activity since 1999. Known for her flag and movement choreography, Andrea has designed and consulted over the last 18 years for numerous high schools in NY, NJ, PA and OH for both marching band and winterguard seasons (including Centerville HS and Northmont HS) and taught CoMotion Winterguard for 3 years. Andrea was in charge of the movement program and choreography for 7th Regiment (2015) and The Raiders Drum Corps (2016-2017). In addition to colorguard, Andrea has consulted and designed for the indoor percussion activity in both the SA and IW classes on the east coast. Andrea has marched 10 seasons of Drum Corps with several groups including NY Skyliners, Jersey Surf, The Boston Crusaders and The Caballeros. She also has 10 seasons of Winterguard experiences with a variety of Independent Groups including Pegasus Winterguard, where she got her start. She is a Pride of Cincinnati Alumni, having marched in 2013and the in 2014 with Pride's Dance Ensemble. Andrea currently teaches Southern Knights Performing Arts Winterguard where she lives in England since 2017. “I believe that movement and dance is the heart of any performance. It allows one to freely self-express when words are not enough.”
Outside of the colorguard activity Andrea taught middle and High School Art in Philadelphia for 8th years. She has her Interior Design Certification, and a PGD in International Education and Development. She is currently studying Primary Education in the UK, teaching Year 3 at a local UK Primary School in Brighton and volunteers for an organization that prevents food waste; The Real Junk Food Project. Joining Pride's Board of Directors in 2019, Andrea looks to give back to the very organization that inspired her in the first place to be the best version of herself. Andrea believes in people working together to inspire and change the world and looks forward to being part of "the change" that is needed in all aspects of life.
