Let's walk through how to prepare your space, getting to know the VR controllers, putting on the VR headset, and gearing up for your exciting VR starter experiences.
Take frequent breaks.
VR experience can cause nausea, motion sickness, and fatigue.
If you start to feel uncomfortable, sit down, take off your headset, and give yourself a break.
You will navigate VR environments using controllers. Begin to familiarize yourself with its buttons and how to hold them comfortably in your hand.
Let's recap how to use the controllers
Put on and secure each wrist.
Familiarize yourself with the surroundings.
Try pressing each button a few times until you feel at ease with one hand first.
Repeat it with the other hand.
Navigate through the VR environment using the controllers
Let's review each button
TRIGGER: Selects/Grabs objects in your environment.
GRIPS: Grabs objects or makes a fist using your virtual hands.
JOYSTICKS/THUMBSTICKS: Navigate your environment with these.
A & X Buttons: Selects objects in your environment.
B & Y Buttons: Returns to the previous screen/menu.

Making sure you have a comfortably and securely fitted headset will allow you to stay in VR longer between breaks. Try to figure out which settings and adjustments work best for you.
You can wear VR headsets while you are wearing glasses. However, most VR headsets can only accomodate small or medum-sized frames. If you have large-framed glasses (<142mm width, <50mm height), consider switching to a smaller pair for VR use or using contact lenses.
Some of Pratt's VR headsets are already outfitted with glasses spacers to help create a more comfortable fit. Learn more about glasses spacers here (see 6:25 to 7:03).
If your headset is low on battery, please charge it before continuing. It takes about 2 hours to fully charge a Meta Quest 2 headset.
Your VR Play Boundary marks off the area where you can safely explore VR in your physical space. When you are in VR, your headset will let you know whenever you are getting too close to the edge of your boundary to ensure you always stay safe in your VR explorations!
Follow along to these audio instructions:
First, find a clear area where you can walk around safely with a VR headset. The space must be at least 7' x 7' with no objects on the ground that might become a tripping hazard. Then put on your headset and controllers.
Open "Settings" by selecting the green settings icon from the bottom toolbar
Select "Physical Space" at the top of the settings menu
Select the "Create a new boundary" option at the top
Select "Redo".
Tell your headset where ground-level is by bringing one controller to touch the ground. Using the other controller, select "Confirm"
Select "Switch to Roomscale Boundary".
Tell your headset where your safety zone by drawing an outline around your cleared play area.
When you're done, choose "Confirm" to finish setting up your boundary

Using your right controller, press the Oculus button once to reveal the menu. Press and hold the Oculus button for 3 seconds to recenter the menu to where you're standing.
Check the Batteries
Try this if ...
your headset is working, but the controllers are not responding
The controllers may need new AA batteries. Also, check to make sure the labels on the headset matches labels on the controller. Mismatched headsets and controllers also cause this issue.
The starter kit will guide you through five diverse immersive VR experiences, so you can see the breadth of what is possible in VR.
Each experience will show you a different aspect of what VR has to offer:
