If a Franklin HS student is experiencing thoughts of suicide, or has a plan to die by suicide, FHS Mental Health support staff will follow the PPS Suicide Prevention Protocol to assess the student's Level of Risk and connect them to a mental health support that works best for them. This work is guided by our FHS Suicide Prevention Plan, as well as our Staff Suicide Prevention trainings.
Our plan includes connecting students and families to culturally-specific counseling and/or crisis support (options found on this page) , and offering them regular/additional support at school while they recover and build new skills for self-regulating.
