Fell off a Mountain
By: Alex Busch, Brandon Rivette
Fell off a mountain
Landed in a fluffy field
Bodies surround me
Blood covered the flower field
Shocks across all their faces
Nobody hears me
Only the voice inside me
I am all alone
The walls are white around me
I can’t move my arms and legs
At least I can crawl
But I am swimming in blood
Feels like a hot tub
What is the point of living
Why has my life gone this way
Hard. Soft. I don’t know
Nothing is coming to mind
My brain has melted
How do I have a conscious
My body can burst right now
This is it. The end
No reason to push further
Everything is gone
I close my eyes, and wake up
The floor is soft and feels nice
Drowning is Sorrow
By: Shayna Cox, Olivia Walstad
Drowning is sorrow
For the noise is deafening
I hear not a thing.
Overwhelmed by the silence
I’m in. It's too much for me.
I am not sure where
Overwhelmed would be a lie
A lie that means more.
The task ahead is daunting.
Lies within truth; truths in lies.
Truth has no meaning
Tasks were all that I was taught
I know nothing else.
Knowledge is dangerous, it’s
The most valued currency.
Currency that’s risk
That is valued more than life
But yet here we are.
In 2016
By: Brett Haag, Holly Lowenberg
In 2016
The purge was involved with clowns
I saw my neighbors
In the dark street, I see death
I wonder… will I be next?
There is a man here
He’s outside my window
Dressed as a clown
Oh no, I just heard a crash
I can’t see, the light is gone
I tried to go hide
But I could not find a spot
I ran to the bed
I hear the clowns by my bed
Peek a boo, I now see you
Trickling Rivers
By: Melanie Koopmans
Trickling Rivers
Flow freely from the mountain
Promoting new growth
Water pools around my feet
Whirls of foam dance in circles
Circling around
Children gather by the stream
Growing and dancing
The blue of sky, green of life
Swirl under the clear surface
Surfacing close by,
Frogs jump from the lily pads
Leaping and hopping
Stray droplets spray out on impact
Decorating foliage
On near spider web
Droplets also splash the bug
Refreshing spiders
Don’t linger long, you must move
Or be entranced by its beauty
Little Butterfly
By: Abby Hughes, Teagan Thurston
Wilted Monarch wings
No butterfly in the sky
Crumbled on her own
Butterflies passing by her
See the color fade away
Beautiful colors
No butterfly in the sky
Wings once spread now sad
Little butterfly now gone
Families mourn her passing
Little butterfly
No butterfly in the sky
Her flight now hindered
The flight drained the life from her
No butterfly in the sky
On the Rainy Day
By: Luke Lindquist, Samantha Leckie
On the rainy day
I went outside to have fun
I grabbed a blue ball
The sun shined through the rain clouds
Ball bounced on muddy puddle
The ball bounced down hill
It had went down on the road
I went to get it
But the ball was too far gone
Flattened by the truck passing
I filled with sadness
I tried to find another ball
But there were no more
I stand in the empty road
A passing car collides
Wind Whistles Past Me
By: Maddie Morton, Miranda Mullarkey
Wind whistles past me
I inhale the salty breeze
The sun is setting
Reflections on a life lived
I see myself rippling
My hand travels through
Into the salty water
And I grab a fish
Light Fading Slowly
By: Joel Voigt, Peytyn Kolberg
Light fading slowly
Her eyes will begin to close
She slips into dreams
The memories of her life
Nothing but stains on the dirt
The stains of her tears
Shes afraid and all alone
Trying to let go
Rain washes off the anger
Removing the stains of life
“Living is useless”
Staring at her right hand shake
She’s as pale as the clouds
Here come the vultures descent
A whirlwind of black feathers
Blacker than her soul
Vultures come to watch her fall
Falling back to life
She will never fade away
Fighting off the starving birds
