The Toy Factory

The Toy Factory Mystery

By: Brandon Rivette

Here I am. Back at where I used to work. After receiving that mysterious note in the maiI, I had to find out what happened at this factory. Though there was not just a note. For some reason there was also an old VHS tape. When I played it back at my house, it was an old commercial about one of the toys that was created at this factory. That toy's name was Poppy Playtime. I was confused when I first watched the VHS though. Why would this be in the mail along with a letter telling me that over the last 10 years, the employees had disappeared from the factory? Not only that, but whoever wrote the letter told me to come back and find them, as well as find what looked like a poppy flower. And so, my curiosity taking the best of me, here I am, ready to try and solve the mystery of the missing employees.

When arriving at the factory, it was clear that the place had been abandoned for many years. With windows broken, paint that had been missing from the walls and floor, and a receptionist desk being empty. While looking around, on that receptionist deck is what looks like another VHS tape. I mean of course VHS tapes are all around here because the company was around in the 1980s-90s. I pick it up and take it to a VHS player that is nearby. It is only a security tape that was recorded by our boss, Leith Pierre. Nothing too interesting really. I mean, it was only used to warn intruders.

After walking around a bit and getting into the security office, I soon find a piece of equipment that all of the employees, including me, used. It is called the Grab Pack and it is used to move heavy objects, unlock specific doors, and conduct electricity. Weirdly enough though, the Grab pack only has one hand attached to it. There are supposed to be two. But it's fine, I only need one hand to open the door behind the receptionist desk.

After opening the door, I am then faced with something truly disturbing at the end of the hallway. I had no idea that the company had made a giant replica or statue of one of their most popular toys. With little hesitation, I start approaching the giant toy standing strong at what looks like nine feet tall. After I left the hallway, I took a quick glance at the sign in front of the thing. The toy's name is Huggy Wuggy. Memories began flooding back into my brain. The times of me working here, making these revolutionary toys. And sometimes, life-like toys. Maybe that's why I left.

Anyway, after I passed Huggy, I came up to another door that needed to be unlocked with the Grabpack. However, just because some electricity worked, does not mean that all electricity works. When I went to open the door, it ran out of power. The only way to fix the power was to get into the room that houses all the electricity. But unfortunately, the door is locked. Suddenly, I heard a noise, the sound of a pair of keys. I turned around and out of nowhere, there’s a pair of keys hanging off of Huggy’s hand.
