I'm Anne Crawford and I'm your Middle School Art Teacher! After spending 10+ years managing adults, I returned to teaching. Perhaps one of the best decisions I made in the process was joining the team in Poynette. I've been teaching in Poynette in some capacity since the summer of 2016. While I've taught all ages from kindergarten - adult, I'm loving middle school!
I have a degree in Art, a lifetime teaching license for all ages, and I'm working on a master's degree in educational leadership. When I'm not teaching, preparing for teaching, or thinking about teaching, I enjoy reading, walking, arting, watching a good crime drama, or spending time with my family.
After graduating from Portage High School, I moved around the midwest and landed back in Poynette with my husband, our daughter, and our cute little doggy. After school you can find me taking tickets with my husband at football games, ordering takeout from Head-Inn, or walking my dog around the block (because that's as far as he will go).
I believe that middle school can be challenging enough for kids, and art class should not add to that stress! I encourage students to have fun, explore, mess up, and ask for help. During a time when many students turn away from art, my goal is to encourage children to become confident creators.
