It's all about the Chromebooks. In order to participate in this class, each student will need full access to Google, a variety of apps, and links on their Chromebook. Students will sign a contract reviewing these requirements.

Chromebook

This is your tool for the semester. You will need it every day. Make sure it is charged.

Be responsible with your Chromebook. If you make choices resulting in a restricted account, you will not be able to complete your work during that time. This will negatively impact your performance in Digital Art.

The first week of school will require a student and adult signature on our Digital Art Mutual Understandings. While these mostly repeat our school expectations, they are adapted to suit our particular class.

DIGITAL ART MUTUAL UNDERSTANDINGS

Syllabus

First semester will consist primarily of Digital Art activities, while second semester will focus heavily on yearbook creation. We will see some overlap, but that's the general plan. Attached you can see examples of class activities from previous years.

Yearbook

You are responsible for preserving the school year for the entire student body. You will need to document events during and after school, perhaps on evenings and weekends too. In addition to photography and page design, you get an opportunity to try many different publishing tasks.

Daily Work

Some projects will take longer than others. While some can be completed in a class period, others may take a week! We will document daily progress on slides in Google Classroom. Parents can view their child's work and teacher feedback if they are listed as a Guardian in Google Classroom.

Google Classroom

In Digital Art, Google Classroom is used to submit Daily Work. We also use GC to manage deadlines and communicate feedback on student work. A portfolio of completed work will also be created and housed here. You can request to be a guardian on your child's Google Classroom by sending me an email at acraw@poynette.k12.wi.us
