Mt. Carmel AVID

AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination. The AVID elective class is open to students who have earned between a 2.5-4.0+ GPA, who have the willingness to work hard and a desire to go to college. AVID places special emphasis on reading, writing, critical thinking, teamwork, public speaking, community involvement, test-taking skills, note-taking, and organization through tutorial sessions with college students and AVID curriculum. AVID is more than a class, we're a family. We are here to encourage and support each other to reach our college dreams!
