Perched 1600 feet above the Pacific Ocean, Hearst Castle stands as an architectural marvel. From 1920 to 1948, California's first licensed woman architect, Julia Morgan built La Cuesta Encantada (The Enchanted Hill) for media mogul William Randolph Hearst.
We offer a variety of ways to connect the story of Hearst Castle and it's art collection with your students and curriculum.

STEAM Program at Hearst Castle & Hearst Memorial State Beach and Pier
Designed for middle school students from underserved communities, The Foundation at Hearst Castle sponsors this very special two-day virtual tour of both Hearst Castle and the nearby beach and pier. Content aligns with STEAM disciplines and aims to inspire students to think more broadly about their futures. Students receive “STEAM Kits” in advance of the program containing hands-on activities that pair with the live stream experience. Two-days, 45 minutes each (Suitable for grades 6-8).
