This is the new hybrid schedule, effective April 12, 2021.
Most teachers will be posting work for you to do at some point during the day. Some teachers, however, will be asking you to log in and participate remotely in the regular class time. This is at the teacher's discretion.
You will attend one block per day from 3:00-3:30 pm, and then have all four classes on Wednesday mornings from 9:30 am - 12:25 pm. Teachers will assign work for the days you do not have their class.
It is important to note that some teachers may require you to log in remotely to the in-person class times. Please check with your teachers and make sure you are available to attend classes as needed.
If technology is a barrier to access, please reach out immediately to a counselor, social worked, co-principal, or any trusted staff member at Deering.
We have worked with PATHS students on a case-by-case basis. In most cases, AM PATHS students can attend without issue. Many of our AM PATHS students will attend Deering on the opposite days. So, a Cohort A student might be at PATHS on M/Th, and Deering Tu/Th. Reach out to your school counselor if you have questions.
Ninth-grade sections were designed to be cohort-specific. So, some class sections have all Cohort A, some all Cohort B, and some are all remote. This means that ninth-grade classes can continue to meet four days a week, as they have been. The big change for ninth-graders will be the length of the blocks.
If you do not have a Block 1 or Block 4 class, you should plan to come to school early or leave late. If you have a "hole" in your schedule for Block 2 or Block 3, you will be assigned to a physically distanced study hall.
Clubs will continue to meet after school. As of now (4/5/21), club meetings remain virtual.
