Risograph Printing is a digital equivalent to screen printing at A3 size. Images have to be processed so that each colour prints seperately, the same way you would prepare for screen or stencil printing. It uses a scanner bed, like a photocopier, to scan your black & white design and print a single colour from a specialist colour drum.
Purchasing a Riso Print
To use this printer you will have to use our Print Submission page. It DOES NOT use your Papercut credit.
We have four options available to you. These are:

Most courses that integrate the Riso printer into their units arrange their own demonstrations of how to use the printer.
If your course does not do this or you would like a refresher, you can email us at ccidigitalprint@port.ac.uk to arrange a quick demonstration at a convenient time. Or we can be found in Eldon South room 1.118 if you would like to arrange it in person.
The Risograph printer is mostly unavailable during lunch hours (12:30-13:30 Mon-Fri) and is always unavailable on weekends and bank holidays.
The Risograph printer is located in Eldon South room 1.125.
Risograph Demonstrations
If you are a course lecturer or leader and would like to arrange some Risograph Demonstrations as part of any of your units, we can provide this. If you are a student and you are interested in this and think others on your course would be as well, please speak to your course leader or tutor and point them in our direction to arrange it for you. Simply send us an email to ccidigitalprint@port.ac.uk and we can arrange a suitable time with you. It is recommended to keep the class size between 10 and 15 students so not to overcrowd the area.
The demo will involve a basic intro into using the machine, showing how to:
Load a new colour drum.
Make a master.
Make a 3 colour print.
The students will not have to bring any designs as we will be providing the materials for the demonstration.
For more information about any of these processes or how to set up to use them, visit the Support Desk in Eldon South 1.125 or email: ccidigitalprint@port.ac.uk
