📚 September – A New Year Begins! The school year is off to an exciting start as students dive into greetings, introductions, and fun “All About Me” projects! With the Moon Festival in full swing, they’re discovering the legend of the Moon Lady, enjoying festive traditions, and comparing this important celebration to Thanksgiving. We’re also honoring Confucius, learning how his wisdom continues to shape Chinese culture today!
🌏 October – Exploring China & Counting Up! This month, students took a virtual trip across China, visiting famous landmarks like the Great Wall and the dazzling Harbin Ice Festival! They also mastered numbers through games, songs, and challenges, with fourth graders even tackling the Chinese abacus. And of course, we wrapped up the month with a spooky Halloween adventure, learning festive vocabulary through interactive games!
👨👩👧👦 November – Family & Giving Thanks! November was all about family and gratitude! Students practiced talking about family members and shared what makes their loved ones special. Thanksgiving brought cultural connections as we compared it to the Moon Festival and Chuseok, and students reflected on what they’re most thankful for—in Chinese!
