As our year comes to a close, I wanted to thank our wonderful team of teachers of Chinese. They have endeavoured to create a safe space for our students to grow, learn and have fun exploring the Chinese language and culture through songs, games, crafts, drawing, and parades. I absolutely need to thank each of our elementary school teachers, staff and administration for their continued support of our program. Finally, I would like to thank all of YOU, our superlative POB community. 

From all of us at the POB World Language team, we wish you a happy summer and we look forward to seeing you in September!

Hello again everyone! We had another amazing trimester here at POB. Our Chinese students were treated to so many fun activities. We held our annual Lunar New Year Parade in each building. The students leading the parade were so excited to show off their lion and dragon costumes and celebrate the new year with their friends. Our students that celebrate the lunar new year were also invited to wear their traditional constumes and show us a little of their heritage. Every student and teacher helped bring this tradition to life and we are grateful to everyone. Xie xie!

We also are proud to announce that one of 4th graders won the Silver Award in a national essay contest sponsered by CLASS. Congratulations JUSTIN LU! We are all so proud of your accomplishment!

We changed up the format a bit this time to accomodate all the amazing pictures and videos we took this trimester. I hope that you enjoy our second trimester newsletter.

Ni hao! I'm so excited that we are restarting our Elementary Chinese Newsletter. Our Elementary Chinese program started over 20 years ago and we are still going strong! The Chinese FLES Newsletter was published and distributed several times over the years and we all felt it was time to restart the tradition. Our newsletter will be published via this webpage every trimester.  We hope that this multimedia format will be more engaging for you.  You will find images and video of our amazing students showing off their projects and their Chinese!

As the Director of the World Language and ENL department, I am enormously proud of our World Language teachers and the work our students produce. None of this could have happened without the support of the amazing POB community, our Board of Education and all of our POB staff.
