Why did you start teaching?
Because I wanted a difference in children’s lives. I connected with teachers when I was in school and it made a huge difference. I wanted to do the same with my students. I felt it was my calling to give back and help kids grow academically, emotionally, and socially.
When did you start teaching?
My first year teaching was 1998. I was 20 years old. I turned 21 Sept 22 of my first year teaching.
What's your favorite thing about teaching? Seeing the “lightbulb” go off in kids minds when they understand something that they previously didn’t. There is no greater feeling than seeing that connection.
How long have you been teaching?
26 years.
How long have you been teaching in Plainview?
20 years.
Have you taught any other grades?
Yes, 5th,7th, 8th, and 9th.
What are your hobbies?
I love to play tennis, cook, take long walks with my family, and I'm a chronic organizer.

What is your favorite sport?
Tennis? I played in HS on Varsity for 4 years and for my college as well!
What's your favorite thing about working here at POBMS?
First, I love that I work and live here; therefore, I get to see my students around town and get the best smiles and hugs! I also love our principal and assistant principals. They are so supportive and encouraging. The staff here is amazing and the students are awesome!

“In my free time I like to read, doodle, and write.”
What are you thankful for?
“I am thankful for my family, especially my dog, and all my caring and funny friends.”
What does it feel like to be in the student council?
"Student council is a very engaging club, and I feel like everybody is included, no matter what grade or position"
What does it feel like to run for secretary?
“Although running for a position in the student council is very fun, it can also be quite stressful. But I am proud of myself and others who had the courage to run for a position in the student council.”
