As the leaves begin to fall and the air turns crisp and cold, autumn is here. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, everyone knows that it is fall. Here’s a simple, fun craft to bring in the new season!
Fall Leaf Wreath
By Rachel KOShy
Materials:
For this craft, you can make leaves out of paper or collect leaves from outside. If you choose to collect your leaves, all you need is:
- Paper (construction paper, cardstock, or computer paper)
- Glue or tape
- Scissors
- String (optional)
If you choose to make leaves out of paper, you’ll need:
- Red, orange, yellow, green, & brown paper (construction paper or cardstock)
- Regular paper (construction paper, cardstock, or computer paper)
- Glue or tape
- Scissors
- String (optional)
Directions:
To begin creating your Fall Leaf Wreath, start by cutting a ring out of your regular paper. You can fold the paper in half, then cut out two circles (one big one for the outside, and inside it, a smaller one).
If you’re cutting leaves out of paper, simply draw leaf shapes on your colored paper, and cut. (To make more than one at a time, fold your paper into halves or fourths, then draw and cut out the leaves.)
Tape or glue your leaves carefully onto your paper ring. Glue one leaf at a time, one on top of the next.
If you want, cut a small length of string and tape it to the back of your wreath. You can use the string to hang your finished wreath.
Optional: In addition to the leaves, you can cut acorns out of brown paper and add them to your wreath.
