As Malcolm Gladwell said-” Practice isn’t the thing you do once you’re good. It’s the thing you do that makes you good”. Practice teaching is one of the most awaited times of every education student. This is the moment where theories will be put into practice and the growth of pre-service teachers will be witnessed.
The pre-service teachers will get to experience firsthand what is it like to be working in a school where they will handle a number of students and will get to experience working with some co-teachers. Truly, practice teaching is a milestone experience for every pre-service teacher, it’s an experience that will mold them into exemplary educators.
The e-portfolio is composed of the works and learning evidence of Ms. Jenny-Lyn O. De Jesus throughout her Practice Teaching 2 journey at Espiritu Santo Parochial School (ESPS). She handled three sections at Grade 1, namely Grade 1-Faith, Hope, and Charity. She taught the Araling Panlipunan subject for the 2nd quarter during the school year 2021-2022. She was under the supervision of Prof. Marcia Nina Salvador her PT02 Supervisor, Mr. Christian Belarmino, her cooperating teacher at ESPS, and Ms. Jo Ann Judimo, the grade school principal of ESPS.
The author of this e-portfolio used as a reference to her teaching the standards and policies of Philippine Normal University and Espiritu Santo Parochial School, As well as, aligned her lessons to the K to 12 Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCS) of the Department of Education (DepEd).
The author's e-portfolio is titled "HIRAYA", an ancient Filipino word that means "the fruit of one's hopes, dreams, and aspirations,". In which in this e-portfolio, can be seen the author's journey and step-by-step process as she works on her dream to be a Teacher.
