This class covers events, issues, and people starting in the 18th century through modern day. It is taught from multiple perspectives and resources so students walk away with a well rounded idea of how and what our country was founded on.
Most of the essays will be written in conjunction with what students are studying in U.S. History. Writing is taught using the Step Up to Writing curriculum. This curriculum breaks down the process of writing into smaller segments so students get competent at their writing skills.
Vocabulary will be words and phrases found throughout our readings. Students should expect weekly activities and quizzes. Students will be expected up use specific vocabulary in their writing.
