2023 Boys Basketball Athlete of the Week

Week of 2/27


7th BBB-Blue

Kellan Rogers

Kellan has worked to improve his skills all season long. He tied his season high for points against Williams Junior High. Great job Kellan!


7th BBB-White

Isaac Kulig

Isaac showed great adaptability and heart all season long. He gave a total effort at every practice and game. He was already to play whatever position the team needed him to. Great season Issac!


8th BBB-Blue

Brady Averill

Brady showed steady improvement all season, particularly his rebounding and defense. Brady has a tremendous work ethic and a positive attitude. Congrats Brady!


8th BBB-White

Marcus Beinborn

Marcus has made some strides in improving his basketball play, as well as his attitude throughout the season. In the last game, he did a great job playing loosely and being a vocal leader of the team while they started mounting a comeback in the 4th quarter. Keep it up, Beinborn!


Week of 1/30


Blue B

Ethan Rainey

Ethan has been a consistent hard worker in both practices and games this year. He has improved immensely, and because of that, stopped one of the best scorers for our opponents, in a sudden death win over Wood Intermediate. Great improvement Ethan, and keep up the good work!


7th BBB-White

Quentin Kettmann

Quin has been Mr. Reliable all season on both ends of the court. He always comes ready to play and is willing to learn from his mistakes. The future is bright for Quin!


8th BBB-Blue

Victor Hernandez

Victor had a solid game in the win over Davenport, Wood. He ran the offense superbly, creating open shots for other players and getting to the basket. Great job Victor.

7th BBB-Blue

Jameson Andresen

Jameson has a great work ethic and works hard every day at practice or in games. He has improved his skills this season and continues to improve. Great job Jameson!


Britain Bailey

Britain is a player that takes his skill work and strategic play very seriously. Because of that, Britain has put himself in positions to execute great offense and defense versus his opponents. His tough defense stops his opponents from scoring, and his offensive movement and passing allows Spartans to score. Great work Britain! Keep it up!

Brayton Birkel

Brayton is a very consistent player on both ends of the floor. His shooting has really picked up and he is looking to score. Additionally, Brayton has excellent work ethic and practice habits. Congrats Brayton!


Zechariah "Z" Novak

Zechariah has been improving every day and has emerged as one of the best defenders on the team. His Total Effort during practice and games have led him to be one of the leaders on the team . Good Job Z


8th BBB-White

Gabe Russman

Gabe has been fantastic this season, being a steady force off the bench. He brings a great physical presence into the game and has a great attitude during practice. Great work, Gabe, keep up the great effort!

7th BBB-Blue

Blake Bishop

Blake has a great work ethic. His hardwork pays off in games. He is our best perimeter defender and is always in the right spot. His shooting has improved throughout the season. Keep it up Blake!


7th BBB-White

Colin Townsend

Colin's scoring and defensive effort were huge for us this week. He helped swing the momemtum in our favor in both of our games this week. Great job Colin!


8th BBB-Blue

Luke Knutson

Luke has been a strong presence on both ends of the floor in our last 2 games. He is aggresively taking the ball to the rim and has done a nice job rebounding. Luke is a great teammate and displays an excellent attitude each night. Congrats Luke.


Colton Olderog

Colton was the leading offensive force behind the win over Bettendorf. He strives to be better every day in practice and games. Nice job Colton.





Week of 1/23

7th BBB-Blue

Luke Martin

Luke was our leading scorer in both our games this week against Smart and Walcott. He is aggressive on driving to the basket and getting good shots. Way to go Luke!


Max Clausen

Max is looked up to on the Blue Team as a leader, and his leadership shows on the court. He goes to the basket strong, and battles for rebounds, as well as scoring well inside the paint. Max works extremely hard is practice, and his skill improvement shows as a result. Congratulations Max!


7th BBB-White

Gabe Zorg

In both games that we played this week, Gabe shut down the other teams best player while also scoring double digits in both games. Way to get it done on both ends of the court Gabe!


8th BBB-Blue

Blake Vonderhaar

Hard worker that gets better every day. Had a great game in the win against Smart, both offensively and defensively. Continue to improve yourself at practice and in games. Nice job Blake.

Cayson Neely

Both Cayson and Ashton answered the bell. After Monday's tough loss, they stepped up their efforts in practice and it paid off in an overtime win against Wood. Keep up the great effort fellas!

Logan Kunkel

Logan was our leading scorer against North Scott. He played with great energy and effort on both ends of the floor. Great job Logan


7th BBB-White

Henry Boedeker

Henry scored some big buckets for us against North Scott. He did this while playing through a ankle injury. Great toughness Henry!


8th BBB-Blue

Mason McCaw

Mason has had a great attitude and effort so far this year. He is a tremendous teammate that excels on both ends of the floor. Congratulations Mason.

Kaden Culp

Kaden played well on both ends of the court against North Scott. He gives total effort at practice and games. Nice job Kaden.

Tripp Barclay

Tripp did a great job handling the ball in both the A and B games as well as turned the pressure up on defense. He comes to practice ready to work and never gets too high or too low on himself. Keep it up Tripp!
