2023 Athlete of the Week

Week of 10/2

7th Blue

Liam Williams

Liam has been a great teammate all season, willing to play whatever role/position will help the team. He has played multiple positions on both sides of the ball this season and even had a long touchdown run in our victory over Clinton this week. Unfortunately, his TD was called back for a penalty, but his production will not go unrecognized as our athlete of the week! Great job Liam!

Jaxson Danielson

Jaxson has led our offense as our quarterback all season. In our victory over Clinton this week he completed numerous passes to mulitple different receivers, showing off his accuracy. He also completed a long bomb touchdown pass over the top of the defense, as time expired to complete the 1st half. Nice job Jaxson!

8th Grade Blue

Colin Townsend

Not only has Colin done a tremendous job of leading our team at the QB position all season, but he has shown his value in multiple ways. In a 29-6 win against Davenport Wood, Colin blocked a punt, intercepted a pass, and scored a rushing touchdown. Excellent Job Colin!

Luke Martin

Luke has been a steady performer for us all season. Whether it's offense, defense, or special teams, Luke is a presence each week. In a 22-6 win against Clinton, Luke scored another rushing TD as well as recording a safety from his LB position. Tremendous Work Luke!

8th  Grade White

Logan Staats

Logan has been a force on defense for us this season and got called into action on the offensive side of the ball this week as we had several guys out with injuries. Logan was a one-man-highlight show on defense and special teams against Sudlow, forcing an early turnover that set up our first score and delivering several huge hits on defense, helping put the Tigers "behind the sticks" on several possessions. Great job Logan!

Mason McFate

Mason provided a little bit of everything against Sudlow on Thursday. In addition to running for two TD's, he hauled in a 3rd-down pass for a 3rd score to get our offense going in the second half. On defense, he was equally impressive in controlling the edge and picking up several huge hits on the Sudlow QB. He's been our workhorse all season and last night was a great display of what he is capable of! Great job Mason!

Week of 9/25

7th FB Blue

Porter Goff

Porter is a member of a defensive that has not given up a point in 2 weeks. His great positioning as a defensive back helped him snag an interception in our game this week! Nice job Porter!

Jackson Jones

Jackson had a great week of practice and gave excellent effort all week. For the last two weeks, his linebacker play on our defense has helped keep opposing teams completely off the scoreboard! Keep up the good work Jackson!

8th FB White

Kellen Rogers was a standout in our game vs Bettendorf last night. He had our biggest highlight with a 85-yard reception and made some other big plays to move the chains. Kellen has done a little bit of everything this season and gives a maximum effort. Even when he's playing a new position, he takes on the challenge with no fear. Great work Kellen!!

Week of 9/18

7th Blue FB

Gage Saldivar

Gage really stepped it up for the team this week. He played multiple new positions, and gave excellent effort!! He was a force on defense, racking up multiple sacks and tackles for loss. Then on offense, he played on the offensive line & even picked up yards running the ball too! Awesome job helping the team in multiple ways this week Gage!!

7th White FB

Mason Guyer

Mason's tenacious defense netted him numerous tackles and assists on defense, but more importantly struck fear in the passing abilities of North Scott. Mason intercepted the ball on our own 20-yard line, and with the assistance of Khamari Riddick's blocking, rambled 80 yards for a pick 6! Keep on trukin Mason!

Frank Slaby

Frank is one of the hardest working players on our team, as well as the most improved. He comes to practice every day with the attitude he will improve, but also to make his teammates better as well. Keep on Truckin Frank!

Graham Rima

Graham is White Team's best utility player. He can play numerous positions and has made himself invaluable to the team. Whenever needed, he jumps right in! When in the game, Graham is always around the ball, and making life miserable for our opponents. Keep on Truckin Graham!

8th FB Blue

Henry Boedecker

In a 26-0 win at North Scott, Henry scored 2 touchdowns and was a force at his Defensive end position. Just as importantly, Henry has stepped up as a reliable leader on and off the field for our team. Outstanding work, Henry!!

8th FB White

Maddux Murdock

Maddux was the sparkplug we needed on Thursday vs. North Scott. After a water-logged first half that ended 0-0, Maddux took advantage of some great blocking and was able to find the end zone three times on Thursday night, running wild for well over 200 yards from scrimmage. He keeps finding new ways to make a contribution to help this team win and it sure is fun to watch. Great job Maddux!

Brody Robinson

Brody was a force on both sides of the line last night and has moved forward as a leader in the trenches for our team. He was in the North Scott QB's face all game long and had one of the best open field block's I have seen in all my year's coaching junior high and I don't care if it didn't count! Keep up the great work Brody!!

Quinn Kettmann

Quinn has been my swiss army knife this season as he does all the little things to help us be successful and never backs down when I ask him to learn a new position, pretty sure he's played 6 or 7 already this season. His versatility is vital to our success and he's just scratching the surface of how good he could get, just like this team! Great work Quinn!!

Week of 9/11

7th FB

Gavin Holmes

Gavin played a large role in our victory over Bettendorf this week. He created running lanes for ball carriers from his offensive line position, made our defensive calls from his linebacker position, and handled all of our kicking duties.  Gavin kicked a field goal, was 3/3 on extra points, and even kicked a successful onside kick. Great job all around Gavin!

Ozzie Duncan

Ozzie found the endzone as a ball carrier in our shutout victory over Muscatine this week. Ozzie is an excellent utility player for our team, he plays multiple positions, flies around making hard-hitting tackles on defense, and is always willing to fill whatever role is best for the team.  He shows up to practice every day with a great attitude & work ethic. Great job this week Ozzie!

8th FB White

Maddux Murdock

Maddux has been a real spark plug for our team to start the year. He has helped us in all facets already this year, making some huge hits on special teams, scoring his first rushing TD of the year in our game vs. DeWitt, and setting the tone defensively on the edge. His fiery competitiveness has been a huge asset for our crew so far in establishing our team's defensive identity so far this year. Great work Maddux!!

Carter Asta

Carter has been a terror on the defensive side of the ball this year and has found his way into the endzone in each of our games so far this season. As coaches, we know we are going to get a max-out effort from him all the time. He's not the biggest kid on our team, but he certainly plays like it!! Great job Carter!!

8th FB Blue

Brady Resetich

Brady is a total effort kid and he's always willing to do what is asked of him. Brady found the end zone 3 times in a win against Muscatine, scoring by rushing and receiving. He was also a major contributor to our team on the defensive side of the ball. Excellent Job Brady!!
