2023 Athlete of the Week

Week of December 2nd

7th grade

Ali Bries

Ali has grown more confident and tough since the season started. She is getting great rebounds and being tough on the floor! Congrats Ali!

Talia Taher

Talia has been super consistent and her confidence has improved so much! She is cutting with aggression and no one can stop her from getting the ball. She is so aggressive that Coach Petersen wanted her to play on HIS team! Congrats Talia!

Kenzie Riley

Kenzie has stepped up big time this week. Similar to a caterpillar that has undergone metamorhasis to become a butterfly, Kenzie has truly started to soar. She helped us to a victory against Wood and we are better with her on the floor.

Olivia Vondracek

Olivia is always ready to go and a great teammate. So much so that she even helps support the other team. She reminds me Raksha, Mowglis adopted mother in the way she cares for all regardless of which team they play for or where they come from. Great job Olivia.

8th grade

Hayden Scott

Hayden brings a competitive, energetic spirit to our team. She holds herself and her teammates to high expectations, which has led us to be 7-1 so far this season!

Addy Kramer

Addy is someone who does what is asked of her and gives 100% effort. She has an injury early in the year, but she came to practice, listened and has been a big asset for our team!

Week of November 18th
Ella Rubel

Ella has been playing lock down defense ever since the season started. There is no one that can out match Ella. She locked down both point guards from NS and Davenport Wood this week! She also made great decisions on the offensive side and has handled the ball well for the Blue team!

Talia Taher

Talia has been steadily improving all season long. Against Davenport Wood, she had great cuts to the ball and made a sweet shot! Congrats Talia!

Elise Kane

Elise was a human torch against NS! She lead our team in points and three-pointers which propelled us to the victory! Great job Elise!

Jordan Simon

Jordan was an absolute monster on the court. She was like Randal from Monsters Inc. In the fact that she seemed like she was invisible and able to steal the ball with ease. Way to go Jordan!

Ellie Cook

I can always count on Ellie to work hard and get better 1% everyday. With this continued attitude, Ellie is going to do great in her future endeavors.

Mazie Sweers

When it comes gametime, Mazie is a great competitior who goes after rebounds, attacks the basket, and initiates the drive for our team. Mazie has been instrumental to our undefeated season so far.

Week of November 4th

Cambell Berg

Campbell was on FIRE against a good North Scott team on Tuesday. She took great shots and worked hard to get open by setting screens, moving to the open spot, and had great cuts!

Charlotte Drayer

Charlotte was all over the floor against Smart and North Scott. She was also the athlete that was on the floor the most being scrappy for the basketball. She handled the ball well and worked hard!

8th grade

Rylan Backes

Rylan works hard, is coachable, and is a genuinely nice person for her teammates. She is what you want as a coach to make your team successful.

Angela Goumas

Angela is always open to be coached, works hard, and had some key blocks in our win against Smart. Angela makes coaching a joy.

Avery Featherstone

Avery had a great week of games and practice! She is tenacious on the boards and a great passer. Congratulations Avery!

Amani Daniels

Amani is an incredibly hard worker and focused athlete! She puts everything she has into every play and is working to get 1% better every day. Congratulations Amani!
