About Mrs. Byrne

Mrs. Byrne is in her 29th year at Pleasant Valley High School.  She holds a B.A. in Music from Bryn Mawr College, a B.M. in Music Education from the University of Northern Iowa, and and M.S. in Education from Western Illinois University.  Mrs. Byrne directs Chamber Choir 4th hr., and Leading Tones (extra-curricular, evenings).  She also teaches the AP Music Theory class 1st hr. Outside of PV, Mrs. Byrne sings with the Augustana Choral Artists and has served on the board of the Iowa Choral Directors Association as the All-State Jazz Choir co-chair, the 2022 Summer Symposium chair, and is currently the Repertoire & Resources Chair for High School Choirs.

About Mr. Connors

Mr. Connors is in his first year of teaching at Pleasant Valley and is excited to rejoin this top-tier choral program. He graduated summa cum laude from Luther College with a B.A. in Music Education. Mr. Connors directs Concert Choir 3rd hr., co-directs the Pleasant Valley Singers 6th hr., and teaches Introduction to Music Theory 1st hr. during the 2nd semester. After school, Mr. Connors directs Jazz Etc. and is the Vocal Music Director for the Fall Musical. Mr. Connors is also a vocalist in the Augustana Choral Artists.

About Mrs. Lyon

Mrs. Lyon directs the Treble Choir 2nd hr.,  Pleasant Valley Singers 6th hr. She also teaches the Adaptive Music class and directs Jazz Nouveau. 

About Mrs. Doak

Mrs. Doak is the pianist for Treble Choir, Concert Choir, and Chamber Choir.
