Harvest Park has a new Wellness Center, The Nest, which serves our students in many ways. The Nest is open everyday from 8:30 am - 3:15 pm for students to come in, relax, refocus, utilize sensory tools, work on assignments, read, or just chill. There are planned FLEX/Access sessions in the NEST that students can sign up for, which include Painting & Popcorn, Therapy Dog, Study Strategies, Note Taking Strategies, Coping Skills, Mindful Meditation, and more! Students can also ask teachers to visit The Nest for a 10 minute re-set if they're feeling emotions that are making it hard to focus and learn. We also utilize the space for individual student accommodations (as part of their 504 plan or IEP). The Nest serves as reminder to students that mental health awareness and wellness are important to living a happy successful life.
🍂 Your Weekly Wellness Check-In from the Nest!
Social wellness is all about having healthy, supportive relationships.
Try these small ways to connect:
Offer a High-Five or a Smile: A quick, friendly gesture goes a long way.
Use Kind Words: Give someone a compliment or say thank you to a teacher or staff member.
Ask a Good Question: Ask a friend, "How are you really doing?" and truly listen to their answer.
Be a Helper: Look for a chance to help someone who needs it, like picking up a dropped book.
Remember...
Being kind to others is also a way of being kind to yourself! Let's make someone's day better this week.
