Harvest Park's Wellness Center

Harvest Park has a new Wellness Center, The Nest, which serves our students in many ways.  The Nest is open at both lunches for students to come in, relax, refocus, utilize sensory tools, work on assignments, read, or just chill.  There are planned FLEX/Access sessions in the NEST that students can sign up for, which include Painting & Popcorn, Therapy Dog, Study Strategies, Note Taking Strategies, Coping Skills, Mindful Meditation, and more!  We also utilize the space for individual student accommodations (as part of their 504 plan or IEP).

Counseling Tips

Avoiding Burnout

Taken from "Tips to Avoid Teacher Burnout in a Jar"

Move on from bad days. They happen to everyone. Take a minute to think about what went right, even on a bad day, and remember: Tomorrow you get to try again.

Mindful Minute

Taken from "Rx for Stress in a Jar"

Rip up the stress. Draw or write about the thing that has you stressed, then tear the piece of paper into shreds. Imagine you're ripping up your stress when you're ripping the paper.

Power Thoughts

Taken from "Wisdom Cards" by Louise Hay

It is only a thought, and a thought can be changed. The thoughts I choose to think and believe right now are creating my future. These thoughts form my experiences tomorrow, next week, and next year.
