Madeleine Le (A-I)

Head Counselor

I am proud to be able to support AVID, PBIS, and TUPE at Harvest Park.

I received a Master of Arts in Counseling with a Pupil Personnel Services Credential at Chapman University and a Bachelor of Arts, double-majoring in Psychology & Social Behavior and Social Ecology at University of California, Irvine. Advocating for equal and equitable access to education for all students is my passion. As a school counselor, I work towards recognizing and bridging the gap that exists for each unique student. I am grateful for this opportunity to be supporting students at PUSD.

Amy Martinez (J-M)

Counselor

Hello students and families of Harvest Park Middle School! I will be working this year as a part time counselor for students with last names J-M.  This is my second year at Harvest Park Middle School, but I've been working in education for the past 15 years as a middle school science teacher and high school counselor in Oakland.  What I love most about being a school counselor is the personal connections I'm able to make with the students I work with.  I'm passionate about helping all students achieve their goals and helping create equitable opportunities for everyone.

I graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, followed by a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Biology from CSU San Marcos.  After working as a science teacher for 5 years I decided to go back to school and received my Master's degree in School Counseling from CSU East Bay.  I currently reside in San Leandro with my husband, toddler, and two cats, Boise and Pepita.  I love Gardening and am currently working on turning my lawn into a drought tolerant native meadow.

I look forward to meeting everyone at Harvest Park! Please reach out with any questions or concerns.

Scott Ferris (N-Z)

Counselor

Hello Harvest Park Middle School students and families! This will be my first year at Harvest Park after having worked as a school counselor in Los Altos. I received a Master of Science in Educational Counseling at National University and a Bachelor of Arts in English, Preparation for Teaching (Single Subject) at San Jose State University. I taught high school English for a few years before deciding to pursue a career as a school counselor.

As a school counselor, I strive to support students on their academic, social, and emotional journey and help them recognize and realize their full potential. Identifying and helping to eliminate barriers that may exist for students and their families is central to my role in order to help ensure equitable access to education and the resources students and their families need.

I am grateful for the opportunity to work in PUSD and help support its communities. Please reach out with any questions or concerns you might have, and I look forward to meeting and working with you!
