When we feel overwhelmed, pressured, or anticipate a heavy task ahead, we commonly label our current state as "stressed". While many big and small things can slowly contribute to this state, we can learn how to regulate our emotions to minimize the build up of "stress". In his book called Permission to Feel, Dr. Marc Brackett highlights the importance of labeling your emotions. When we learn more about our emotions and feelings, we stand a higher chance of addressing them to reduce the stress that we feel. The first session of Character Strong's Stress series starts with emphasizing the importance of "feeling your feelings".
