"I am Lakshmi Sajith, a junior at Amador Valley High School. I am a Registered Yoga Alliance teacher (RYT) and a trainer at Downtown Yoga in Pleasanton. I started practicing yoga three years ago at Downtown Yoga and graduated from the advanced 200 hours yoga studies program there. I have been teaching teen classes there ever since and I am grateful for the opportunity.
I began yoga practice as a way to heal my knee pain from constant dance practice not knowing anything about how yoga would impact my life off the mat. By doing regular yoga practice, I recovered from my knee pain completely and it also helped me to reduce my stress and anxiety.
There are a lot of benefits that regular yoga practice can bring to one's life including sound sleep, allergy and asthma relief, and reduced stress and anxiety. I think that yoga has a great healing power and by practicing controlled breathing, meditation, and stretching can bring a sense of well-being to everyone."
