What is SkillsUSA?

SkillsUSA is a student-led, nationwide organization focused on helping students involved in Career and Technical Education (CTE) sharpen skills, establish leadership abilities, and create professional connections.

SkillsUSA has over 400,000 members across the country, and offers training and skill competitions in over 100 different careers.

Advisors are here to give you opportunities to grow as a leader, build real-world skills, and succeed in your chosen career path. Think of them as your go-to mentors for all things career and SkillsUSA! They are always available if you have questions, need advice, or have suggestions for how to grow and improve our program.

Mr. Cameron Pospisil

Chapter Operations Advisor

Mr. Pospisil is in his 3rd year at PLHS. He teaches Construction, and Woodshop. Mr. Pospisil handles club logistics, communications, and budgeting. Career background includes residential carpentry, cabinetry, as well as serving for 5-years in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Pospisil has an Associates Degree in Building Construction from Metro Community College, and a Bachelors Degree in STS Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Mr. Zach Covington

Competition Readiness Advisor

Mr. Covington is in his 2nd year at PLHS. He teaches Welding, and Small-Engines. Mr. Covington handles identifying and preparing students for their competitions. Career background includes manufacturing, and maintenance. Mr. Covington has competed at the National SkillsUSA Conference, earning 1st place in Additive Manufacturing in 2022, as well as 3rd place in Chapter Display in 2024. Mr. Covington has a Bachelors Degree in STS Education from Wayne State College.

Mr. Landin Pribnow

Recruiting/Outreach Advisor

Mr. Pribnow is in his 1st year at PLHS. He teaches Construction, and Woodshop. Mr. Pribnow handles getting new students involved with SkillsUSA, and coordinating with the community members and industry partners who support the club. Career background includes one year teaching at North Bend Highschool. Mr. Pribnow has a Bachelors Degree in STS Education from Wayne State College.

Papillion La-Vista SkillsUSA Student Officers

SkillsUSA student officers are the backbone of every SkillsUSA chapter. Officers are student leaders elected to help run the chapter. They plan meetings, organize events, lead activities, and represent the group at school and SkillsUSA events. Officers work as a team to make sure everyone feels included, stays informed, and has a great experience in the program.
