Approximately 10% of all California students attend school within CCFAC’s 14 counties, 125 LEAs, and more than 1,000 schools. Our LEAs represent the diversity of districts throughout California, encompassing districts and campuses of various sizes, demographics, funding levels, and outcomes. These counties serve large urban, suburban, and rural LEAs, as well as single-district counties and single-school districts.

CCFAC exists to build capacity of COEs to provide effective assistance to districts; facilitate learning and collaboration across the system of support; and connect resources, professional learning activities, and other efforts available to assist Local Education Agencies (LEAs) and COEs to improve outcomes.
The consortium of county offices that comprise the Capital Central Foothills Geographic Region (CCFAC) believes in unlimited possibilities for every learner. Collectively we are committed to advancing equitable and inclusive practices, programs, and technical assistance that support our districts and schools in creating, sustaining, and continuously improving systems to ensure rich academic and social-emotional learning for each of the diverse students and families we serve. We seek to empower every learner in our region with the access, ability, and opportunity to realize a strong sense of civic engagement and belonging in their community and our state.
The CCFAC will work intentionally and collaboratively to leverage our collective expertise, will, and influence, to eliminate inequities in the education system by acknowledging, honoring, and planning for the diverse identities and lived experiences of the students and families we serve.
CCFAC is organized to ensure collective impact and improved outcomes across all 14 COEs. CCFAC represents a shared leadership model with an Advisory Committee that guides the work through identifying approaches to communication, building capacity, and collaborating to develop resources.
The CCFAC Consortium is an expanded leadership group that represents curriculum, instruction, accountability, special education, alternative education, court, and community schools, and other areas of emphasis. The CCFAC Consortium meets quarterly to ensure that resources are deployed, calibrated, and coordinated within CCFAC and across the state.
Leads from each of CCFAC's 14 counties meet monthly as an Advisory Committee to identify approaches to communicate, build capacity, and collaborate on the development of resources.
The Advisory Committee's responsibilities include:
Decisions around overall direction of CCFAC
Budget development and expenditure approval
Promotion of professional learning priorities
Collaboration with leaders from California's Statewide System of Support
Joint development of quarterly CCFAC Consortium Meeting agendas
CCFAC members coordinate and calibrate assistance and support through huddles: smaller groups that meet regularly to discuss work in a specialized area. Current huddles are:
Data
Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
Mental Health and Wellness
Small Counties
English Language Development (ELD)/Multilingual Learners
For more information, visit our Huddles page.
The consortium is CCFAC's largest group, consisting of leaders and experts from all 14 counties that represent fields including curriculum and instruction, accountability, special educaiton, alternative education, court and community schools, among others.
Quarterly consortium meetings bring members together to ensure that resources are coordinated, calibrated, and deployed within our geographic area. Common areas of emphasis include Differentiated Assistance, UDL, Data Use and Literacy, Implementation Science, Improvement Science, Equity, English Learners, and School Climate.
