The Parkway West Engineering & Technology program supports students through experiences, curriculum, and instruction that develop STEM literacy. The overarching goal of the program is to empower students to apply science, technology, engineering, and mathematics concepts and skills to navigate complex problems and to innovate with others to solve them.
Students participate in project- and problem-based learning as well as traditional instructional strategies geared toward different learning styles. Students apply their knowledge through hands-on activities in the digital lab and, at times, in the workshop. Technical equipment, innovative software, hand tools, and machine tools will be used simply as a tool to get the job done.
Engineering & Technology courses are elective courses that range from one semester to year-long. Click the Courses tab in the top navigation bar to access the current courses*.
Students with an aptitude or interest in building/taking things apart, robotics, coding, teamwork, and collaboration may be interested in our Robotics Team. See Mr. Donaldson for more information.
* Project Lead The Way (PLTW) engineering courses offer opportunities for honors and college credit.
