The Additional Support for Learning department aims to support all pupils, from S1 to S6, to achieve their full potential.

Additional Support teachers work alongside subject colleagues, Guidance and the Senior Leadership team, within the House structure, and are an integral part of pupil support.

What the Additional Support department could offer includes:

• In class support

• Small group work

• 1 to 1 support if appropriate

Liaison with subject departments to communicate information and strategies to support pupils with specific difficulties.

Work with subject departments to provide well planned courses and experiences.

Organisation of additional arrangements for assessments, where a specific difficulty has been identified.

Liaison with parents to support the additional needs of all our young people.

Liaison with outside agencies including the English as an Additional Language service to support the needs of all our young people.
