Please print and complete the parking permit attached below. The cost for a permit is $50.00. All past and present fees/debts owed to FCHS must be paid before issuance of a parking pass.
Forms can be printed from the link below and submitted to bookkeeper.
Each student in grades 10-12 will be granted the privilege to drive his/her vehicle on campus if they have met all N.C. law requirements for licensing/insurance/registration.
This privilege is granted through the purchase of a parking hanger for a non-refundable fee of $50.00. The privilege to drive/park on this campus is limited to student drivers that apply and are granted this privilege. Hangers are valid only for the school year indicated on this application. Freshmen may be granted the privilege of driving at the beginning of the second semester, pending availability of remaining spaces. Once all parking spaces have been issued, a waiting list will be assembled and spaces will be issued on a first-come, first-serve basis. However, upperclassmen will be given priority over underclassmen. In addition, students will be required to adhere to the following rules and parking/driving regulations of Farmville Central, and will obey all N.C. state driving laws while at any Pitt County Schools sanctioned event. Please read these regulations carefully and complete the attached form. Please keep this page of the application containing the driving/parking regulations for your records.
A student may park only in the parking space assigned to him/her .
At no time will a student “loan”, “switch” or “sell” their spaces to another student (for any reason).
All vehicles will clearly display their hanger on the rear view mirror (facing outward). If the hanger is lost or stolen, a replacement may be purchased for $5.00.
Students will adhere to all traffic directional signs and markings when driving on campus.
Students will not “cut”or“weave” in an attempt to gain position in line when leaving school grounds. This includes driving across unoccupied parking spaces. Doing so will be considered to be careless and reckless driving. Students should be courteous to one another and show respect for other drivers and their vehicles.
Upon arrival to campus, students will exit their vehicles and enter the building immediately. As this is a smoke free campus, it is unacceptable to sit in the car and smoke or stand outside the vehicle and smoke.
Students who leave campus on their vehicles during the school day without authorization from designated school officials will be considered “skipping.” An automatic forfeiture of parking privileges for the remainder of the school year will occur. If a student leaves campus with proper authorization, and later returns to pick-up other students, they must do so in front of the school.
Students may register up to TWO vehicles. Students will not be permitted to drive other vehicles unless permission is given in writing by administration. If a student purchases another vehicle during the course of the school year, a new application form must be completed for the purchased vehicle.
Students will not drive in excess of 5 mph (posted speed limit) on school campus, and will operate their vehicle in a safe, orderly manner.
Students may not drive through the front parking lot for any reason between the hours of 8:00 am-4:00 pm, except for the purpose stated at the end of rule 7.
Any illegal contraband/materials discovered in vehicles on school campus will result in automatic revocation of parking privileges for the remainder of the school year.
Students may not go to their vehicles at any time during the school day unless the student is signing out to leave campus. Written permission to go to vehicles for other reasons may only be granted by administration, and only in cases of emergency.
Students will not engage in any act that causes damage to another student’s vehicle.
If a traffic accident (or alleged vehicle damage) involving two parties occurs on campus, students will remain at the scene until law enforcement has been notified and any discrepancies have been resolved.
All past and present fees/debts owed to FCHS will be satisfied before issuance of a parking pass. Students must have the FCHS bookkeeper’s signature stating that all debts are satisfied before receiving a parking hanger.
Please bring a copy of your license with you.
Warning: Any damage to school property by a student’s vehicle may result in an automatic revocation of driving/parking privileges. Failure to comply with these regulations at any Pitt County School event will result in a warning, revocation for the rest of the school year, or towing the vehicle driven by the offender. These consequences are dependent upon the severity of the offense; and are at the sole discretion of the Administration/SRO. Failure to purchase a parking hanger prior to driving on campus may result in towing the vehicle at the offender’s expense.
This privilege is a rental agreement. Upon withdrawal from Farmville Central, or revocation of the parking privileges, Farmville Central will reissue the space held by the original student for the same price. The attached form must be completed and signed by the applicant and a parent/guardian prior to the issuance of a parking hanger.
