Crew of The Atlantic Queen

OFFICERS

Keeney- Captain David Keeney, a grizzled sea captain, and one of the best whalers to sail out of Bridgeport, RI.He is a hard man, and obsessed with getting enough 'ile (whale oil) before he turns home. Married to Anne Keeney, who joined this sailing. 

Mrs Keeney- A good-hearted woman and former teacher, Mrs. Keeney longed for adventure. After sailing out with her husband, (Captain Keeney) and getting stuck in sea ice for over a year, Mrs. Keeney has lost a part of herself.

First Mate (Harris)- A good sailor, perhaps not the best with people. But he does care for others, and empathizes with the crew who long for home.

Second Mate (Slocum) - A loyal officer. He knows the captain and has sailed with him for over 10 years. The Second Mate would follow him anywhere. Tries to offer wise advice.

CREW

Steward- An old sailor, now working as a steward (server and butler for the officers). He has been sailing all his life, but never has seen anything like this voyage.

Ben- A young cabin boy, very enthusiastic about everything. This is his first long voyage. 

Joe - Harpooner. Joe is good at what he does. His firey temper, makes his ship mates sit up and take notice. The leader of the mutiny contingent.

Big Frank - Harpooner. Big Frank tries to keep spirits up around him. He is committed to the mutiny, sees it as the only way to move forward.

Max - A sailor. Young, he has a good reason to want to go home now. The year of being trapped in the ice has weighed heavily on him.

Paul - A sailor. Cares deeply for others, especially Mrs. Keeney. He is young as well.

Paddy - A sailor, this is not his first voyage. Paddy is a naturally cheerful person, though now that has been tested to the breaking point.

Driscoll - Sailor and Shantyman. Driscoll is old fashioned and doesn't always respect the younger sailors who have new ideas or who haven't been around as long as he has.

Smitty- A sailor. Few feel the anger as strongly as he does. The injustice is unacceptable. A man of few words.

Davis - A sailor. Follows along with the others, not a man of individual courage. Wants to be in the crowd.
