Project 3 Guidelines: For this Project we were tasked with finding a real world problem and solving it using Fusion 360. We had not a lot of time but we had time
Brainstorm: My problem was whenever I tried to do anything on my desk in my room I had no space and it was cluttered with pens pencils and highlighters. My idea to solve this was an item that could hang off the side of the desk which I later scrapped. It would also serve as a small organizer for my pens and pencils on my desk.
Design 1: My first design had one container for pens pencils and anything else that I can put in it. It also had a place so that I can glue it to the top of the table. The downsides of this design is that I would have no organization in the container itself. I plan to make different places to put pens pencils and even my phone.
Design 2: For this design, I added the different containers. This was so if I were to have my phone and pens and pencils, I could put my phone and the pen and pencils in separate containers. I also decided to scratch the idea of it hanging off my desk because I had place to put it on my desk.
Problem: Here is my cluttered desk full of highlighters, pens and pencils.
Solution: This is after I organized my desk using my design.
Here is a close up with it having my phone as well as the utensils on my desk.
SOUL:
S: Strengths: I think the strengths in my work is my thought ahead of time. My first design only had two boxes to put my stuff in but I wanted to separate the pens, pencils and highlighters so before making a design I did just that and it ended up being my final product.
O: Opportunities: I think some opportunities that I had in this project was using a 3D printer to solve problems in my house. It makes me want to buy a 3D printer for my house when I grow up so if I have problems like these I can solve them without having to buy something premade which might not fit what I want entirely.
U: Understanding: I think I learned how to find simple easy problems that I have in my house and how to fix them easily and simply with the help of a 3D printer.
L: Limitations: I think the Limitations on this project was amount of time I had to complete it.
WISCR: I think the 2 parts of WISCR that I use the most in this project was Insightful and Critical Thinker and a Well Rounded Learner. I was an Insightful and Critical Thinker when I was coming up with solutions for my problem in my house and I was a Well Rounded Learner when I was using the 3D printers and learning from Ms. Tran how to set up ideas with lengths before I printed.
