Project Description:
For this project we were assigned to create a nice heartwarming outline for a soap that the person that you chose can wash their hands with. The person I chose was my mom. The guidelines were to create a project must be 2”- 3” in diameter and 1”- 1.5” tall. Remember that the default unit in Codeblocks is millimeters.
Brainstorming:
I had a bunch of different ideas for the soap including one with a pig insted of a heart and based it around the pig, but I settled on a heart with held hands in the middle with the catchphrase "Hands Held, Hearts Linked."
All steps:
I started with a heart and a design of the hands. I used a picture and the spline tool to make the hands look good.
I then extruded everything and added my text. It was a pretty straightfoward design and I ended up using my first design for the final product.
I first printed a smaller version before scaling it and making the final design. My finished mold looked like this before putting the silcon mold around it.
This is how it looks in the silcone plastique.
This is what the soap turned out to look like. The words were a bit hard to read so next time I might color it but other than that it looked good.
SOUL:
S: Strength: My work is intricate and thoughtful yet simple.
O: Opportunities: I got to use the 3D printer and silicon mold in this project.
U: Understanding: I learned how to use the spline tool to its fullest potential in this project. I also learned how to use the scale function
L: Limitations: I feel like with more time I could have maybe improved it a little more.
WISCR: The two WISCR was Insightful and Critical thinkers and Self-motivated. I was Insightful and a critical thinker when I was thinking abiut what design I was going to use and when my text would on come out. I was self motivated throughout the project.
