Project Description:
this project consists of partnering up with a mandrin 1A student and working together to make them a custom heritage-themed chocolate.
For this project, I was partnered with Lena, who gave me feedback for the chocolate I am making for her and commented throughout the process of me making it.
Brainstorming:
First, she sent me brainstorming ideas of some symbols and objects to represent her heritage that would be on the chocolate. the lotus flowers represent her honesty, and the lanterns represent her love to celebrate.
I then came up with some brainstorming sketches using the characters and symbol she gave me. I finished the drawings for what the chocolate would look like, and sent them on the doc. she picked one, and I started building it in fusion 360.
Procedure:
I finished my first design, but decided to change some things like the depth after printing it.
After tweaking it and making a few changes, I printed the final copy. we then created molds with our design to pour the chocolate in.
I decided to redo it since there were some small blemishes and air pockets, and to make sure the outcome with the chocolate would be smooth.
After pouring the chocolate in and leaving it in the fridge, I had the final product.
Reflections:
S - the Strength of my work is the simple design that combined all the aspects of what Lena wanted, with her name front and center and a lantern with a lotus.
O - If given more time, I would have improved my design by making a separate lotus flower design to put on the other side on the name. I could have also added more depth to the imprints.
U - Understanding - I learned how to use use fusion 360 better, and learned more about the features and tools. I also learned how to make a mold.
L - With more time, I could have further polished and improved my design.
WISCR - Two aspects of WISCR that I applied were "clear communicator" and "Insightful and critical thinker". Lena and I worked well together, and never had any problems with communications or disagreements with the design. we also thought critically when making the design and coming up with ideas for the chocolate, and make good adjustments throughout the process.
