Project 1
For project 1 I chose to make a cover for the box and wires.
This project is where you and a partner make a cover for the box and wires using fusion 360 and laser cutting it.
The project requirements are that you must work effectively with ms. Tran and create a coverage solution that disguises the current network box and gives it extra functionality.
We researched other covers and box designs and used carboard, hot glue, and the laser cutter to make it.
First, Eliott (my partner) and I went into fusion and started making our design. we took inspiration from commercial boxes and covers with openings (for the wires).
after coming up with a design, we made it in Fusion 360.
after checking and testing it, we decided to scrap it and remake it, since it wasn't grouped correctly.
After fixing our design, we laser cutted it out and started to assemble it.
after putting it all together, we had our prototype.
S - Our strength was in pour design being sturdy and simple.
O - We could have probably made a more complex design that better covers the box and wires.
U - I learned more about using fusion 360, and how to use the laser cutter.
L - We had trouble making the bodies, and also couldn't fully complete the project, as we had to stop after making the prototype instead of making a final design that would be used to cover the box and wires.
Two aspects of WISCR that we applied were "clear communicator" and "Insightful and critical thinker". Elliot and I worked well together, and never had any problems with working together. we also thought critically when making the design and coming up with ideas for it.
Name Tag: My first lesson in fusion 360 where we learned how to create a name tag using shapes, text, and the extrude feature.
Name Tag v2: we edited the version 1 design so that the name cut into the base by changing the extrude feature to cut.
Lego 2x4 block: we created a lego block with features we learned as well as the rectangular pattern.
bowl macaroni & vase: we learned the revolve tool and used it on some simple designs.
candle holder: for the quiz, we made a hard candle holder design using the revolve tool.
glass jar: for the lesson today we made a mason jar design with the revolve tool.
water bottle cap: for the quiz we made an advanced design of Larry's water bottle cap using the revolve tool.
Snow Flake: Today we used mirror and trim to make a snowflake wth our names on it.
