Project Description:
this project consists of making a design to transform into a mold for a valentine's day soap for a special person, based on a catchline. we were given the choice to either make the mold in Fusion360 or TinkerCAD.
Brainstorm:
I decided to make a soap for my mom, because she is always there for me and is my #1 supporter. After thinking of some ideas, I decided my soap would be a waffle, and my tagline would be "I love you a waffle lot!". I made this for my mom, because of all the love and care she gives me. I decided to model my design off a circular 4-peice waffle, since those are the type she makes me for breakfast.
Procedure:
I went into fusion and started making the design, starting with the sketch. I made it using the 2 point square and circular pattern tools. I then extruded different parts of it different heights, and lastly used the fillet tool to round the outside edge.
I printed this to make sure there weren't any issues with the design, and found out i had accidentally made it 2x wider than I meant too! after fixing that, I confirmed tht the design worked.
I then made the model thicker and and added some final details and adjustments before printing my final model.
After the model finished printing, it was time to make the soap mold. we all used silicone plastique for the mold, which would harder after we molded it around our print.
Final results:
Reflections:
S - the Strength of my work is the simple design that combined all the aspects of what we have learned and executing the project well.
O - my opportunity for improvement is if I maybe added more details, like syrup dripping down the sides or a strawberry on top.
U - I learned how to use use fusion 360 with more efficiency, and learned a few more features and tools. I also learned how to make soap!
L - I missed one and a half of the four class periods we had to make this project, so with more time, I could have further polished and improved my design.
Wiscr:
Two aspects of WISCR that I applied were "self motivated" and "Insightful and critical thinker". I worked well with the time I had, and had minimal problems with the design and the process. I also thought critically when making the design and coming up with the idea, while working with efficiency to catch up as well.
