Description: In a group of three, design and build an automated Skittles dispenser using TinkerCAD, controlled by a Microbit. The Microbit will trigger the dispenser to release 5 - 10 Skittles when prompted.
Project Requirements: We were asked to make a skittles dispenser of the size 5*7*7, releases 5 to 10 skittles, dispenser must have a rotating mechanism powered by a servo motor, must have a container for skittles, and a microbit must be securely attached to the model.
Brainstorm: These two white outlines for our project were made in procreate, and our idea for the project is to make a toilet dispenser.
TinkerCAD Brainstorm: This is the a picture of our design on Tinker Cad. The orange oval in the back is the toilet seat, and the red square is a model of where to keep the microbit.
The Physical Skittle Dispenser: This is a picture of our actual toilet dispenser. The hole is the toilet seat, and the top is the place were we store the skittles.
SOUL Reflection:
S-Strengths: We were very organized and were well planned out through the whole project.
O-Opportunity: more check of requirements as we go?
U-Understanding: I learned how to program a micro-bit, and better how to print tinker cad designs.
L-Limitation: A limitation was that we were timed, so it was harder to complete everything, and if given more time, we could have made it bigger and better.
WISCR:
I think the WISCR's that I followed best was self-motivated and a clear communicator. I was motivated to finish and make a unique cool-looking dispenser that would work, and I felt I was a clear communicator even when sick at home by emailing my group to see what I could do in the portfolio.
