Name Tag: This is the first lesson using the Fusion360 in Design and Engineering 8. Through this experience, we learned how to create a name tag using shapes, text, as well as the extrude feature, extrude cut, and appearance.
2. Name Tag v2: For version 2 design, we edited the version 1 design so that instead of the text being above the design, it is cut into it by using the extrude cut feature.
OTHER DESIGN LESSONS:
For this lesson, we used/learned the following tools to create a heart in fusion360:
1st create sketch(xy axis) upload an image of a heart to trace using the Canvas tool.
2nd, create new sketch(xy axis) to trace over the canvas using the Fit Point Spline tool. Then draw a line at the place you want to Mirror it.
3rd, Extrude the heart
4th, we used the Fillet tool to select the edges to smoothen it.
For this lesson, we used/learned the following tools to create a 3D heart in fusion360:
1st create sketch (xy axis) upload an image of a heart to trace using the Canvas tool.
2nd, create new sketch(xy axis) trace over the canvas using the Fit Point Spline tool. Then draw a line at the place where you want to Mirror it.
3rd, Offset your sketch
4rd, Extrude the heart
5th, Then use the Fillet tool to smoothen ALL the edge
For this lesson, we used/learned the following tools to create a tissue box in fusion360:
1st create the base(center rectangle) of the tissue box(sketch on xy axis)
2nd Extrude
3rd Shell the structure.
4th create sketch(rectangle, smaller than the base rectangle) on the plane that covers the top of the tissue box(this would be where the tissue comes out)
Extrude the structure and select the mode: "Cut". Then make sure it cuts through the top of the structure.
For this lesson, we used/learned the following tools to create a tissue box to print in fusion360:
1st create the base( center rectangle) of the tissue box(sketch on xy axis) and extrude
2nd select the plane that represents the thickness of the base and sketch another rectangle(side1), then extrude
3rd, mirror the sketch that we just drew(side1) to the other side.
repeat the steps 2 and 3 to create the rest of the sides
4th, sketch the top(as well as sketching the hole on top) and extrude(dont extrude the hole)
For this lesson, we used/learned the following tools to create a Lego Block in fusion360:
1st, Select the xy axis and sketch a center rectangle
2nd, extrude
3rd, Select the top face of the prism and create a circle on the top right corner.
4th Use the Rectangular pattern tool to select the circle and multiply the quantity.
5th, extrude
6th, use the Shell tool to hollow the rectangle
7th, create a circle on the bottom of the brick, offset, and use Rectangular pattern to create the 3 tubes at the bottom.
For this lesson, we used/learned the following tools to create a macaroni in fusion360:
1st sketch a circle on the zx plane.
2nd use the revolve tool to revolve the circle 180 degrees(By first selecting the profile and then the axis you want the structure to rotate around)
3rd Shell the structure
For this lesson, we used/learned the following tools to create a bowl in fusion360:
1st sketch using the arc tool to create a quarter of a circle
2nd revolve it 360 degrees,
3rd Shell the structure
For this lesson, we used/learned the following tools to create a vase in fusion360:
1st create sketch on the zx axis and use the fit point spline, line, and arc tool to create one half of the vase shape.
2nd revolve 360 degrees
3rd shell the structure
4th use the fillet tool to smoothen the edges of the top of the vase
For this lesson, we used/learned the following tools to create a Candle Holder in fusion360:
1st create sketch on the zx axis and use the fit point spline and arc tool to create one half of the vase shape.
2nd revolve 360 degrees.
For this lesson, we used/learned the following tools to create a glass jar in fusion360:
1st use the canvas tool to import a picture of a jar.
2nd create sketch on the zx axis and use the line and arc tool to trace one half of the jar shape.
3rd revolve 360 degrees.
4th shell the structure
5th use the Fillet tool to smoothen the top of the jar.
For this lesson/quiz, we used/learned the following tools to create a bottle cap in fusion360:
1st create sketch(zx axis) to create half of the bottom of the bottle cap first.
2nd revolve 360 degrees
3rd create sketch(zx axis) to create the handle
4th Extrude both ways in order to make sure that the handle is in the middle
For this lesson, we used/learned the following tools to create a snowflake using fusion360:
1st create new sketch(XY)
2nd create two circles(one smaller than another, both centered around origin)
3rd create a circumscribed Polygon, and draw a hexagon.
4th Offset it
5th draw a line that goes through both hexagons and make it end at the larger circle.
6th, Offset both sides of the line and draw a circle at the intersection of the middle line* to the biggest circle.
7th, draw a new line from the intersection of the middle line* and the inner circle.
8th, Offset
9th Create an Arc to connect the offsets
10th Mirror everything from the steps 5-9 with the middle line* as its axis
11th, Select everything that was just mirrored and create a Circular Pattern
12th Use the Trim tool to delete line segments.
13th, extrude
14th create Text Block and type in your name
15th, extrude the text block.
